Mandy Patinkin is best known for his role as Saul Berenson in the award-winning TV series Homeland and Hal Wackner in The Good Fight. He has also appeared in major feature films, such as The House on Carroll Street, Dick Tracy, The Hunchback, Wish I Was Here, and many more.
Patinkin, who emerged as a theater actor in 1975, starring opposite Merryl Streep in Trelawny of the Wells, is a man of many accomplishments. His work in the musical Evita won him a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical in 1980. After his tremendous win, he continued to receive Tony Award nominations for his work with Sunday in the Park with George, The Wild Party, Henry IV, and The Secret Garden, among others. In 1990, Patinkin won a special award at the Outer Critics Circle for his exemplary work in theater. Apart from acting in theater, Partinki also received several accolades for his film and TV efforts. In 1995, he won Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series at the Primetime Emmy Award for his work with Chicago Hope. After his victory, he received three more Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe nominations.
In 2002, Patinkin released a solo album titled Mandy Patinkin Sings Sondheim. The album consists of songs from renowned musicals, such as Dick Tracy, Sweeney Todd, and Follies, among others. All the tracks were written by the acclaimed late songwriter Stephen Sondheim. In 2018 and 2019, Patinkin released a trilogy titled "Diary."
