Kansas is a progressive rock band that rose to prominence in the ‘70s. During their prime, the band dominated the airwaves with beloved hits, like the 4x platinum “Carry On My Wayward Son,” 3x platinum “Dust in the Wind,” “Point of Know Return,” “People of the South Win,” and more. The next decade, Kansas continued to entertain music enthusiasts with quintessential classic rock anthems, such as “Hold On,” “Play the Game Tonight,” and “Fight Fire with Fire,” among others. All these sensational singles were featured in certified gold and multi-platinum studio albums. During the late ‘70s, the band was at their prime with mega-successful releases like Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, and Monolith. Their first live album, Two for Show, released in 1978, was also certified platinum. Several decades later, Kansas’ prominence remains unprecedented after their first compilation album, The Best of Kansas, was certified quadruple platinum in 2001.

Kansas has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Today, the band remains a force in progressive rock with the release of their latest effort, The Absence of Presence. The 2020 album took the number 4 spot in Billboard’s Current Rock Albums and number 5 on the Top Internet Albums. The effort was also an international hit after entering the charts in 13 countries.
