This commercially successful rock quintet Yes plays a prominent role in the progressive rock circuit. Emerging in 1968, the band was one of the first groups to introduce clever time signatures and fusion of various genres. The band also showcased elaborate stage designs and impressive light displays. Yes released countless notable albums, several of which earned platinum and multi-platinum status in the U.S. Their 1983 effort, 90125, sold over three million copies in the U.S. Achieving their first breakthrough in 1969, the band has continuously enjoyed a successful career and became one of the most influential rock bands of all time.
In 2017, Yes was finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – 48 years after the release of their self-titled debut album. The Rock Hall praised the band for “pushing the boundaries of rock and expanding the musical experience.” Yes was inducted by fellow progressive rock legends Alex Life and Geddy Lee of Rush.
It’s been over five decades since Yes dropped their first album, but the progressive rock pioneers are still rocking like it’s 1975! The band just dropped their latest album, Mirror to the Sky, which features singles “Cut from the Stars,” “All Connected,” and “Circles of Time.” In line with the newly released effort, the band sets out on a massive North American trek titled Classic Tales of Yes, and they’re making 27 stops in major cities! Fans in Salt Lake City, Utah, are in for an amazing show as Yes will make their way into town to perform at the Eccles Theater! On Saturday, 28th October 2023, fans can look forward to a high-energy setlist packed with the band’s unprecedented hits. With a catalog spanning over 50 years, one would wonder how on earth the band can choose what songs to perform. But the touring veterans know their market well, and their U.S. setlist is specially curated to give the crowd the utmost satisfaction.
Just to give an idea, the band completed the phenomenal Close to the Edge 50th Anniversary Tour last year, and they belted out numerous crowd pleasers, such as “And You and I,” “Roundabout,” “Starship Trooper,” “Heart of the Sunrise,” and more. They also performed some notable covers, including Richie Haven’s “No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed.”
This 2023, you can expect an incredible production packed with fan-favorite hits, high-energy vocals, groundbreaking guitar solos, and more. The band continues to wow the crowd even after touring for over five decades. If you are a fan of progressive rock music, you better not miss out on catching this legendary band!
