Hamilton at Eccles Theater

Nearly 10 years ago, on February 17, 2015, history was made as Hamilton first showed Off-Broadway at the Public Theater in New York City. It was this iconic opening that was so well-received, which led to a Broadway hit in August. Since then, Hamilton has been showing not just in America, but in several locations around the world.

Hamilton builds on its success as it tours on a limited season in Salt Lake City in August at George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Theater, typically well known for showcasing the worlds most outstanding productions and musicals.

Hamilton, the story of Alexander Hamilton himself, a U.S. Founding Fathers, has gone on to empower many fans all around the globe. The popularity of this musical from its inception started to grow bigger and larger especially after the 2016 Tony Awards, where Hamilton was able to win 11 out of 16 nominations and consolidated its ranks in Broadway and beyond. It has also proved to be accessible to a broader crowd partly of the fact that this Broadway musical specifically opts to features genres currently trendding in pop culture, such as hip-hop, jazz, and R&B, while being made from a very diverse cast for each tour. Its unique score and musical recording have become even more accessible due to its publication outside the musical itself on digital platforms.

Hamiltons reach has only continued to develop from here as Hamilton has continued to run in various cities across the United States, and perform in several locations across the world including Canada, the equally-renowned West End in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Paris, the Philippines and Abu Dhabi. Its global fame continued as it also released a movie version in 2020 that became available to stream on Disney.
