The Book Of Mormon tickets

Utah, you’re in for the finest kind of surprise as The Book of Mormon, one of Broadway’s wittiest, cleverest, and most humorous musicals is arriving and performing in Salt Lake City on Saturday 25th January 2025 at the one and only George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Theater! Take part in a musical performance that makes you laugh and love classical theatre, full of hysterical and comedic twists.

Produced from the minds of the creators of the famous comedy TV show South Park and the musical Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon features two Mormon missionaries, Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, as they try to convert local villagers in Uganda. In the same fashion to their previous productions, the musical takes the serious subject of religion and satirizes it through both writing and music.

As Ben Brantley of The New York Times states, just like South Park, it is “also blasphemous, scurrilous and more foul-mouthed than David Mamet on a blue streak. But trust me when I tell you that its heart is as pure as that of a Rodgers and Hammerstein show”.

Make the most out of your chance to be part of the audience and get a seat to this unsurpassed show, before they're all gone!

The Book Of Mormon

George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Theater

Premiering in 2011, The Book of Mormon has undoubtedly been one of the most thriving Broadway musicals since its opening. A collaboration by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez, the musical is based on the Latter-day Saints (LDS) founder and prophet Joseph Smith complete with his Book of Mormon. The show was originally meant to premiere off Broadway at the New York Theatre workshop after its 2008 staged reading, though this turned out to be a blessing in disguise as its actual launch in 2011 moved to a more known location at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre.

After a year, the Book of Mormon was already approved for a U.S. national tour that lasted four years, including a run in Salt Lake City, Utah! The show also carried on to be produced in several locations, with a Chicago production staged in 2012, a West End production in 2013, and Australian and European productions both produced in 2017.

The unconventionality and nonconformity of this musical were key elements to this success. It tells the story of Elder Kevin Price and Elder Arnold Cunningham, two LDS missionaries who aim to preach their faith in a remote village in Uganda. It is there that they contend with the indifference of the locals, as well as their contrasting methods in spreading their faith, given that Cunningham lies to the villagers by tacking on fictional parts from science fiction and fantasy stories into his religious teachings, while Price is resolved to teach the villagers in the usual, orthodox manner. The way the musical is shared with the audience is staged in quite an unorthodox manner as well, usually satirizing religion in its script and also injecting humor in both of its acts, including its upbeat showtunes.

For its current run, the Book of Mormon will be in Salt Lake City in January at the central theatre venue of George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Theater, which holds an smashing stage, sound system and acoustics, and best facilities that is fit for this word-class show.
